Hi, welcome to Playroots OT. My name is Michelle Pegler,  I am a passionate Occupational Therapist that loves working with young children and their families using an individualized strength based child-lead approach. If you have a young child that could benefit from an OT to help you understand their sensory system, expand the types/amounts of food they eat, play in a back and forth way, participate in self-care activities like toileting, dressing, brushing teeth, washing face, bathing and/or play in a coordinated way you have come to the right place.

My passion for working with young neuro-divergent children began in 2006 in my final early childhood education placement and in 2013, I graduated from Queen's University with a Master's in Occupational Therapy. I have worked in a variety of settings including treatment clinics, client's homes and schools in Toronto, York Region and Orange County in Southern California. I have a passion for learning and have additional certifications in DIRFloortime® (Advanced Parent Coach), Play Project Consultant, Sensory Integration Training from the University of Southern California, Feeding & Eating (SOS approach to Feeding, Beckman Oral Motor and Sensory Integration in Eating) protocol) and the Safe and Sound Protocol.

If I sound like the right fit for you and your child please contact me, I look forward to hearing from you.

I am also a conference speaker/educator and have presented at Seneca College in the Early Childhood Education program and was an invited speaker at the Canadian Peadiatric Societies yearly conference (2025).  If you are looking for an Occupational Therapist to speak at your workplace, educational setting or conference please don't hesitate to reach out.
